The newly expanded Recycling Depot is the first community based recycling centre in New Providence. The public now has the opportunity to recycle a wider variety of materials in a centralized location.
Recycling is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce the environmental harm to our planet.
At Family Medicine Center, Diabetes Education Network and ACE Diabetes we understand and accept our environmental responsibilities.
We are committed to doing what we can to protect our environment by recycling and we invite you to take the simple steps to recycle so that we can preserve our natural resources.
There is a solution to pollution and it starts with recycling.
Take a look at this flyer to see what items you can recycle.
WHY RECYCLE?
Based on a recent study by Cans For Kids in the Bahamas each person produces 4.3lbs of trash per day.
This adds up to 900 tons of trash added in the landfill each day.
That’s the equivalent of about ten 737 airplanes or 514 cars.
All that trash feeds the persistent problems at the landfill. Below is an image of the large dump fire in April that burned for more than 24 hours.
This is a breakdown of where the waste comes from. Currently Family Medicine Center, Diabetes Education Network and ACE Diabetes recycling.
